JIM Dent

James Lacey Dent (known as Jim Dent) turned professional in 1966 and

joined the PGA Tour in 1970. He is a Florida PGA Championship three-time

consecutive winner (1976–1978).

In 1989, Dent joined the Senior PGA Tour (renamed Champions Tour).

From 1989 to 2009, he captured 12 Champions Tour victories. Dent

ranked 12th on the PGA Senior Tour's 1989 money list.

Jim Dent's 12 Champions Tour victories:

  • Won in 1989–MONY Syracuse Senior Classic, and Newport Cup
  • Won in 1990–Vantage At The Dominion, MONY Syracuse Senior Classic, Kroeger Senior Classic, and Crestar Classic
  • Won 1992 Newport Cup
  • Won 1994 Bruno’s Memorial Classic
  • Won 1995 Bell South Senior Classic at Opryland
  • Won 1996 Bank of Boston Senior Classic
  • Won in 1997 and 1998 The Home Depot Invitational

Dent was born May 9, 1939 in Augusta, Georgia. He caddied at Augusta National Golf Club and Augusta Country Club. He graduated from Laney High School (Augusta, Georgia). James Lacey Dent was inducted into the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame in 1994.​​
